The football Women’s World Cup has
come to the round of 16. I decided to purchase a ticket for a match; my choice
was for the 1st match of the round of 16 in Grenoble. It happened to
be Germany vs Nigeria – but at the time of my booking, I didn’t know.
Here’s my weekend of touristic sport&geology!
I spent a rainy Saturday morning on La Bastille, the fortified hill overlooking the town Isere River as seen from the bubble-shaped cable car. Later, I tried to measure the current velocity by pacing with a floating piece of garbage. The plastic bottle was faster than me walking fast. Where to go first? No doubt! Can you spot the Belledonne and Chartreuse massifs? No? Me neither, due to bad weather Finally, the match. Germany wins 3-0 and passes to the next phase.
